Michael Cusato, from Sori to the conquest of Deep Purple: self-taught guitarist won the international competition and become part of the official tribute band
From September 4 Michael Cusato is officially the new guitarist “Purpendicular” The Deep Purple Tribute Band: an important title for the young man who is approached by Sori straight to the American music scene, quickly gaining international fame.
Michael, tell us how did your passion and music education?
I started playing the guitar since the age of 6 years, thanks to my dad who always encouraged me because it is a big fan of music. At age 19 I began to frequent the studio Blackmore of Genoa, where I met the Master Maurice Quarenghi which I have taken lessons for about a year. The Blackmore is still the seat of my studies, this is where I give guitar lessons, compose and record my songs.

Michele Cusato (Italy, GENOA) was yesterday announced new Guitarist in Purpendicular. The band searched long and hard for the best possible player they could find worldwide , and found their man in outstanding individualist Michele Cusato (28).
The Band played a host of songs in a jam session that included ‘The Well Dressed Guitar’.
Michele will bring great showmanship and individual skill that every musician and fan alike will adore.
Recently Bernhard Welz joined also, saying…..’this line up is amazing’.
Robby T Walsh also said….’ Its a major coup for the band and it brings the band to another level, I thought I had seen it all with great players, but Michele is different class, I would pay into my own rehearsal to hear him’.
Michele Cusato was also so happy when announced he had been given the job saying……I’m so so Happy, it is a dream for me’.
The band will meet up in late January 2012 for the start of the Machine Head tour.
